Your casual Blog about
Web Development
I’ve been a web developer for years now and built tons of stuff in the web. Most of it I never finish but when I do, I get 0 users 👍. So if you want to join me on my adventure of failing side projects, you may learn a thing or two.
Check out what I’m currently up to
„The best piece of advice I can give you is: Don’t wait till you’re a pro. For all I know this is a long wait. Just put it out there, like me. See, I published tons of stuff and I’m still here.“
A few words about me
Hi, I'm Dominik
A German web developer that likes exactly that, web development. Then there’s also music. I play the drums and the piano. Although I’m so bad at playing the piano, I better get this off my list. Well, I play the drums.
Yep, vegan
Also, I’m a vegan from the bottom of my heart btw. No worries I won’t throw this at anyone. But still, animals are a big aspect in my life which is why I’m also part of an animal welfare organization.
How I got into coding?
I’m one of those developers who love what they do but in contrast to many other developers out there it has never been a dream of mine and there’s also no story of me how I disassembled an electronic device and put the pieces back together just because I wanted to know what’s inside. To be honest to this day I admire how computers are built and how they casually handle a huge amount of complexity for us but at the same time I actually don’t wanna know the details of it.
I’m definitely a software guy. In fact I got into software by accident. After I got my degree (or „Abitur“ in German) I had no idea what to do and then just kind of randomly picked „Medieninformatik“, which probably translates into something like „Media Computer Science“. I imagined cutting films and editing images and what not. Turns out it was a full blown computer science program with like one or two lessons for data types, which was the „Media“ part.
However, after the first two (a little painful) semesters I actually started enjoying coding and did it in my free time as well. And yeah, 9 years later, here we are. I founded my own company with my best friend and enjoy coding and developing software ever since.
End of Story
So that’s the story of me and how I got into coding and I’m really grateful you read until here! Hope you can take away one or two things from my website. Have fun and publish!
